On the south side of the house there is a leafy vine which provides welcome shade for the outside table. This is a glorious spot for lunch on a hot summer's day, or a candlelit dinner under the stars. There are terraces to the west and north. The charcoal barbeque is very popular and has all the necessary tools.

A short distance from the house is the swimming pool, which is irregular in shape, but measures 10 x 5 metres. It has been especially designed to provide a waterfall effect at one end and the water cascades into a smaller paddling pool for younger children. We employ a local man to attend to the pool and surrounding area several times a week.

Besides the pool are loungers, a table and chairs. A hammock between the trees nearby has proved very popular for that siesta after lunch.
