There
is a book at the house listing various places of interest, but if you
are touring you will need guide books and the Michelin map (number 75).
The
Dordogne is a famous gastronomic region of France and there are numerous
excellent restaraunts within easy reach.
Underground
caves abound; the most famous being the Lascaux
Caves at Montignac (15 minutes by car). The underwater river and
caves at Gouffre de Padirac
are well worth visitng.
Each
town in the area has its own market day (Thenon is Tuesday).
For
the more adventurous, try a canoe trip down the River Vezere, or just
simply explore the peaceful and beautiful countryside nearby.
